Art for All Seasons

An old photograph, a stop at the store for fresh fruit, a story book,  a drive in the country, the changing of the seasons, all are inspiration for what I do. I was fortunate to have a mother who instilled a love of nature, music, art and all venues of creativity.

If I’m not painting, I’m toying with a recipe to see how I can push the envelope for better flavor and appeal. Or I could be out in the garden, deciding on placement of new plants or shrubs.

I don’t believe that creativity just applies to canvas or clay so I approach my daily tasks with an eye towards beauty and comfort appeal, even down to folding towels or rolling up washcloths to be displayed for easy access in baskets.

When I’m not tending babies during the day, or cooking and taking care of family and church responsibilities, I like to hide in my studio, or bring an art project out to the kitchen table to work while socializing with family. My husband says it’s soothing to have me work out where we can all be together. For all of us art has a healing and relaxing affect. May you find joy in what I do as well!
